(RSI) is committed to developing practical solutions for complex water and radiochemical problems.  RSI has a long-term proven record of success in the areas of nuclear plant chemistry, low level waste processing/handling (liquid and solid), and occupational radiation exposure control.

 

POSITION:  Project Engineer

 

Duties:

The Project Engineer works with RSI staff and directly with customers to provide consulting support, assembles of a variety of RSI designed products, and performs pilot scale testing of liquid processing concepts.  In most cases, the Project Engineer will work under direct supervision of a senior staff member.  However, the successful applicant will be required to work independently on specific projects at our facility and at customer’s site(s).  The ability to represent the Company independently and responsibly, and to communicate effectively within the Company and with its customers is a critical aspect of this position.

 

Project engineers are responsible for the development of customer/client equipment requests utilizing Solidworks and Autocad design software, engineering theories, and research techniques.  Project engineers develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.  Fabrication of equipment, field installation, and the ability to perform field support is also required.

 

In plant project execution and support will be required.  Examples of typical projects include artifact sampling, gamma spectroscopy, staff augmentation, and servicing RSI supplied chemical feed systems and sample panels.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences.

  • Ability to maintain unescorted access at domestic and foreign nuclear power plants.

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and Autocad systems is beneficial.

  • Knowledge of design of electrical cabling and harnesses.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal, machined parts, interconnects, chassis, rack/panel packaging.

  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor and work in an industrial environment.

  • Domestic and foreign travel will be required.

  • Must pass alcohol and drug screening required for nuclear plant access.

Required skills:

  • Ability to learn AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite.

  • Technical report writing.

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Problem solving.

 

A background and broad knowledge of chemistry, chemical engineering, and/or nuclear plant operations would be beneficial.

 

Location:

The Project Engineer is a full-time position reporting to our Rockdale, IL facility.
