
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT ACADEMIC AWARDS NOMINATION FORM
The Joliet Section of the American Chemical Society is pleased to announce academic awards for undergraduate chemistry students within our geographical Section. These awards will be given for achievements in the following five areas of chemistry: Analytical/Instrumental, Biochemistry, Inorganic, Organic, and Physical.

Nominations for awards will be reviewed by the Joliet Section Board. Nominees will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Performance – mainly based on exceptional classroom performance in the designated area of chemistry

Scholarship – this includes classroom and laboratory research, investigative research, internships, etc.

Service – this includes service to the community, campus, department, etc.

The Joliet Section Board must receive all nominations for awards. The nomination form must be filled out by a college/university professor/faculty member with expertise in the designated area of chemistry and address the above selection criteria. All nominations can be completed using the nomination form below.

Professors/faculty members may nominate no more than two students for the same award. Only one student will be selected in each area of chemistry among all nominated students.
​
Professors/faculty and their nominated students and family members are invited and encouraged to join us at the ACS Joliet Awards Ceremony and dinner.
​
ACS Joliet will be hosting the awards ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year on Friday, April 24th at Lewis University. This awards ceremony is in conjunction with our CCEW event.
